Angel Fish (Pterophyllum eimekei)

Angel Fish are from the American Cichlid family The typical colouration of the wild Angel Fish has a silver body colour and four distinct black vertical stripes on the side of the body.
Angel Fish Eat all live food and some dry foods but it is best to vary there diet or they may go hunger strike. They are best kept at a temperature of around 24 - 28oC
Altough in one book I have read it say's that Angel Fish are sedate and peaceful fish in my experience they certainly do not live up to there name so I would not really see them as a good comunity fish. In saying this if u do have a seperate tank as well as a comunity tank it may be worth trying them in a comunity tank and keeping a close eye on them see how they get on but after the first signs of trouble I would seperate them.
